Communications Committee
This committee is responsible for all written and electronic communication content and collateral materials that support the 55+ Housing Council activities. It includes the Council’s website, marketing materials, breakfast program flyers and slideshows, SAGE Awards event, public relations, and social media. This committee also supports all other committee activities with regard to marketing and communication materials. Member volunteers are welcome.

Legislative Committee
This committee provides the 55+ Housing Council Board and its members with information regarding legislative matters pertaining to the senior housing industry. Member volunteers are welcome.

Membership/Sponsorship Committee
This committee is responsible for the management and growth of membership and sponsorship. Activities include the recruitment and retention of members, sponsors and SAGE underwriters. They develop and propose member and sponsor benefits for Board approval and initiate member/sponsor drives and promotions.

Nominating Committee
This committee is appointed by the board President and includes, per the bylaws, the immediate past president, current president and two Council members as appointed by the Chair. It is responsible for nominating potential board members as part of the annual election process. (Board members only.)

Programs Committee
This committee plans the monthly education breakfast programs. They develop the topics, contact speakers and oversee program execution, which includes providing direction for promotional flyers, speaker coordination, hotel logistics, and the breakfast and room set up for event day. This group also is involved with the Council’s activities at the annual BIASC BIS Show and the SAGE Awards.

SAGE Awards Committee
Involving the Programs Committee and other interested board members and volunteers, this committee plans and executes the annual SAGE Awards dinner and program. The SAGE Awards honor individuals, projects and programs that have made an outstanding contribution to enhancing the quality of life for Southern California [Santa Barbara to San Diego] residents aged 55+. Held in November, this industry event includes a networking cocktail party, opportunity raffle, gourmet dinner and awards program. Member volunteers welcome.
